St. John's Parish in Visakhapatnam belongs to the Krishna Godavari
(KG) Diocese (whose Bishop is the Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Dyvasirvadam), which in turn is
part of the Church of South India (CSI). It comprises mainly two Churches - St.
John's Church, located at Old Post Office and St. Paul's Church, located beside
the Governor's Bungalow. The Parish also oversees the administration of St. Peter's
Church located at Bheemunipatnam about 20 kms. from Visakhapatnam. The Parish has
a growing Outreach ministry in many places around Visakhapatnam; it has adopted
many villages and hamlets, including tribal regions. The Parish conducts regular
English and vernacular Church Services and Sunday Schools as well as other activities.
The St. John’s Parish School in the St. John’s Compound is a long established institution
catering largely to the needs of the surrounding residents . The Parish is pastored
by its Chairman and Presbyter-in-Charge, the Rev. B. Ananda Rao.
